27 Knightsbridge London

27 Knightsbridge was an existing Cat B fit-out dating from the early 1990’s. RDK were appointed to design a RIBA stage 4 MEP fit-out with exposed industrial services. The project consisted of a refurbished HVAC system complete with exposed primary ductwork, secondary ductwork, fan coil units and suspended luminaires. The installation was designed in accordance with Part L Building Regulations and BCO guidelines. The installation included PV panels and received a very good BREEAM rating.

27 Knightsbridge London

27 Knightsbridge was an existing Cat B fit-out dating from the early 1990’s. RDK were appointed to design a RIBA stage 4 MEP fit-out with exposed industrial services. The project consisted of a refurbished HVAC system complete with exposed primary ductwork, secondary ductwork, fan coil units and suspended luminaires. The installation was designed in accordance with Part L Building Regulations and BCO guidelines. The installation included PV panels and received a very good BREEAM rating.

Compass School, London

Compass school is an independent educational institution located in Surrey Quays, London. The client acquired an existing industrial unit converting it in to a secondary school. RDK Consulting Engineers were appointed to complete a RIBA Stage 4 design in relation to the MEP. A new lighting control system was installed, complete with new LED luminaires. The mechanical installation was upgraded and consisted of a new HVAC system as well as fittings for changing rooms and eight classrooms.

Berryfilelds Primary School (Aylesbury)

The Berryfields Primary and Nursery School is located in Buckinghamshire County Council, within Aylesbury. The new build internal area is approximately 3,480m2. RDK Consulting Engineers was appointed by M&S to refurbish their distribution centre located in White City, London. RDK upgraded the high-level lighting converting the existing metal-halide luminaires to LED. The warehouse consisted of an exposed open ceiling complete with new primary and secondary ductwork. Mechanical and electrical services were upgraded in the staff canteen and office cubicles. The total construction budget amounted to £5 million and the installation was completed a month ahead of schedule.

The four laboratories were upgraded to facilitate the new laboratory equipment. The lighting control system was updated and new LED luminaires installed throughout. RDK were responsible for upgrading the existing substation and LV distribution switch panels to facilitate Givaudan’s future expansion plans.

RDK completed a RIBA Stage 4 Cat B fit-out at 66 Prescot Street, London for a well-respected financial services company. The design brief included an exposed ceiling highlighting the MEP design. The budget for the entire project amounted to £1.8 million with a completion deadline of 5 months. The Cat B fit-out was designed in accordance with British Council for Offices guidelines, BS 7671 and all relevant British Standards. The Cat B fit-out consisted of break out spaces, small meeting pods, conference rooms and a board room.

66 Prescot Street, London

RDK completed a RIBA Stage 4 Cat B fit-out at 66 Prescot Street, London for a well-respected financial services company. The design brief included an exposed ceiling highlighting the MEP design. The development consisted of a gym, M&S food hall and 260 apartments. RDK were novated to complete the MEP design for the residential and landscape lighting. Lighting within the communal spaces was designed in accordance with LG9 and a new lighting control system installed within the landlord areas, communal hallways and exterior footpaths.

RDK were responsible for designing the restaurant, commercial kitchen, bar and reception area. The entire MEP services were upgraded including the electrical and gas supplies. Our engineers worked with various professionals and interior designers throughout the design process to deliver a luxurious yet comfortable dining suite with mood lighting.

Battersea Power Station, London

RDK Consulting Engineers completed a RIBA stage 3 MEP design comprising of mixed-use development. RDK produced a co-ordinated MEP design for the commercial, retail and residential areas, as well as ceiling voids, MEP risers and plant rooms. Our engineers attended weekly site meetings to ensure all MEP minutes were actioned. The total construction cost was valued at £900 million. Our electrical team designed the entire lighting layout and ensured that the residential and commercial lighting was designed in accordance with Lighting Guide 7 and 9.

Battersea Power Station, London

RDK Consulting Engineers completed a RIBA stage 3 MEP design comprising of mixed-use development. RDK produced a co-ordinated MEP design for the commercial, retail and residential areas, as well as ceiling voids, MEP risers and plant rooms. 1 Leadenhall Market, London

RDK were consulted to produce a RIBA stage 3 shell and core design for 1 Leadenhall. Our engineers produced scaled, hand-drawn elevations setting out internal riser components to ensure the MEP risers were adequately sized. RDK sized all mechanical, electrical and public health plant rooms and liaised with specialist suppliers to ensure the plant rooms were the right size to house generators, pumps, HV and LV panels. RDK conducted a Revit check to ensure no MEP clashes were detected within the landlord communal areas, risers and ceilings voids or in MEP plant rooms.

Bespoke joinery was fitted to house the fan coil units, lighting control system, smoke aspiration system and distribution boards. RDK designed the architectural lighting scheme within the residence and produced detailed lighting control schematics and luminaire schedules. The project was a success and RDK has received numerous repeat commissions based on our client’s recommendation.

Brand Opus, London

1 Stephen Street London consisted of a Cat B fit-out for marketing agency, Brand Opus. The brief was to design a modern space with an industrial feel, with a focus on staff wellbeing. RDK completed a stage 4 design comprising of high-level exposed luminaires, a bespoke lighting control system, ductwork and a staff café. The project was designed in accordance with British Standards and relevant BCO and CIBSE guidelines. RDK produced a sustainable design reducing the client’s annual energy costs.

Brand Opus, London

1 Stephen Street London consisted of a Cat B fit-out for marketing agency, Brand Opus. The brief was to design a modern space with an industrial feel, with a focus on staff wellbeing. RDK Consulting Engineers were appointed to refurbish the old Victorian boiler house at Royal Holloway University. The existing MEP services were relocated to make way for a new conference centre. The conference centre featured specialised stage lighting managed via a lighting control room. The seating was automated and can be retracted to create an open space for exhibitions. The existing steel beams were retained alongside exposed internal brickwork. RDK completed this RIBA stage 4 design for Royal Holloway University on time and within budget.

The Queens Bridge hotel is new built situated on river Thames comprises of 224 guest rooms with large FOH and BOH area. There are two main kitchens located at level 4 and franchise kitchen located at level 0. There is a motorway passing below the building, therefore, the building up to level 4 is split into three individual islands. The planning requirement of the project is BREEAM “Very Good” and also to comply with London plant requirement of 40% reduction in regulated CO2. The project value was about £ 45 million.

Queens Bridge House Hotel (Westin Brand)

The Queens Bridge hotel is new built situated on river Thames comprises of 224 guest rooms with large FOH and BOH area. There are two main kitchens located at level 4 and franchise kitchen located at level 0. There is a motorway passing below the building, therefore, the building up to level 4 is split into three individual islands. The planning requirement of the project is BREEAM “Very Good” and also to comply with London plant requirement of 40% reduction in regulated CO2. The project value was about £ 45 million.

The building is cooled via multi service chilled beam system and heated via perimeter trench heating. Building achieved BREEAM Excellent rating under BREEM 2009 new office scheme. The building is fitted with the latest LED technology and a Simmtronic lighting control system.

RDK were appointed to complete a RIBA stage 4 design at 1 Melina place, London. The project consisted of a high-end privately-owned residence which was fitted with LED luminaires throughout and mechanical ventilation. The residence was completed to a high standard complete with exterior architectural lighting. The total build cost amounted to £3 million and was designed in accordance with Part L Building regulations and relevant British Standards.
